Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service. Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in Grand Junction. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.
We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.
Our Altrusa Tech Awards project honors students from Mesa County School District 51’s alternative high schools. Teachers pick students who have gone above and beyond in their field of study, and each school sets their own criteria for choosing students. We honor both a male and female from each school. Each student and their nominating teacher are invited to a banquet in their honor. Each student receives a plaque and a gift certificate. Schools have perpetual plaques with the names for each student.
