In 1930, with 104 Altrusa clubs in 32 states and membership of 3000, a plan for dividing the clubs into ten districts was adopted. Once part of Districts Eight and Nine, redistricting in 1955 moved the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming into what is now District Ten.
Altrusa International District Ten, Inc., works with the Altrusa International organization to support clubs within these four states by encouraging community service, providing guidance in leadership development, promoting membership growth and communicating information.
